Young Tongue isn’t quite as young as the name suggests. The Austin indie rock five-piece performed and released music together for six years as The Baker Family before releasing their debut EP Cat Calls under the name Young Tongue in February 2014. This new incarnation drives their sound across the spectrum from progressive indie to dance pop using a variety of percussive elements and image-based narrative lyricism.
Now Young Tongue is gearing up for their upcoming record Death Rattle due for release November 11th. The album is a collaboration between two local labels, Raw Paw and Punctum Records.
