Waterloo Records, SXSW Outdoor Stage, and more Announce line-ups
Three of the city’s most anticipated free and all ages shows during SXSW announced their full line-ups yesterday. The SXSW Outdoor stage, formerly known as the Auditorium Shores stage, will be headlined by prog rock group Coheed and Cambria. The entire line-up dances across many sub-genres of rock from surf punk group Tijuana Panthers, to indie rockers Beach Slang to the more straight ahead rock sound of Australia’s Wolfmother. The SXSW Outdoor stage happens on Friday, March 18th.
If you’re looking to binge on the coolest and best local music, the place to be is the All the Friends Ball at Spiderhouse curated by Mother Falcon. The event takes place over 14 hours on 5 stages at 1 coffee house and features the best of this city’s groups who fly low or under the radar. The line-up is as dense as it is beautiful, with acts ranging from Golden Dawn Arkestra and Ruby Jane to lower-key acts like Trax Rebo and Sometimes a Legend. Discover your next favorite local group on Monday March 14th.
If this all sounds great, but you’re looking for a multi-day affair, Waterloo Records, as usual, has you covered. Their annual 4-day event is happening Wednesday March 16th-Saturday March 19th. This event is also the most genre diverse of the three shows. Peaches, Casey Veggies, Thao & the Get Down Stay Down, and Soul Asylum are among those slated to perform. Waterloo Records live streams the bands, and don’t forget: the artists all do signings after their set.
