Hamilton Leithauser 5.9.17

After parting ways with The Walkmen, the New York indie band he fronted for more than a decade, Hamilton Leithauser launched head first into several new projects, including a collaboration with Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij and a new solo record, I Had a Dream That You Were Mine, released Septemeber 2016. Fans of The Walkmen will find plenty familiar with Leithhauser’s new work, wry lyrics on songs like “You Ain’t That Young Kid” are sung with the smirk of a veteran touring musician while Freewheelin Bob Dylan era guitars jangle alongside. While the music may have traded in a bit of New York edge in favor of acoustic guitars and t songs lack none of the bite and intellect that made The Walkmen so much fun to listen to. You can listen to his recent session from Studio 1A in the player below and catch him when he comes back to Austin for the ACL Festival in October.
