Show your love for Austin music and support KUTX at the same time. Join the KUTX volunteer crew!
KUTX volunteers are a community of like-minded music lovers who value Austin’s music scene and want to help keep it thriving. While KUTX is licensed by the University of Texas, we’re a community-supported, grassroots station with a small staff, so we rely on our volunteers to fulfill our mission to promote Austin music.
Why Volunteer
Volunteering with KUTX gives you a behind-the-scenes look at the station, helps you meet new people, and supports the Austin music scene. Whether you’re a native Austinite or new to town, volunteering for KUTX is a great way to get out and experience your city. Plus, it’s fun! From time to time, volunteers are recognized with KUTX goodies and volunteers-only ticket giveaway opportunities.
What Do Volunteers Do
Volunteers help bring to life KUTX’s IRL efforts in the community. Our volunteers …
- Hang banners at concerts
- Hand out swag, engage fans, and represent KUTX at festivals and cultural events
- Lead station tours
- Thank members by phone and mail during Membership Drives
- Serve as ambassadors for KUTX on social media
- Other opportunities as they arise
Getting Started
There’s no minimum time requirement for volunteering with KUTX – you can volunteer as much or as little as works for your schedule. KUTX uses the Austin-based volunteer platform Give Pulse. Create an account with us, then keep an eye on your email for volunteer opportunities and special training!
