Wreckless Eric @ KUTX 07.17.2015

Starting his musical endeavors in the late ’70’s, Eric Goulden, a.k.a. Wreckless Eric, has been cooking up a noisy, underground musical storm ever since.

Following his debut for Stiff Records, including the hit single “(I’d Go the) Whole Wide World,” Wreckless Eric eventually came to focus on making music the way it “shouldn’t” be done – fully DIY – building a large and unexpected lo-fi catalogue of pop-punk hooks and rock ‘n’ roll snarl. Working on his own as well as with a handful of new bands throughout the years, Wreckless Eric’s sound has remained persistently unpolished and at play, and most of his back catalog was reissued in 2014. Wreckless Eric currently also paints, writes, and records material with his wife, singer-songwriter Amy Rigby and, saying, “all I really want to do is drink an espresso, make some freaky noise and drive around in a big old Buick,” he is set to release a new album, entitled amERICa, by the end of this year.

Wreckless Eric stopped by Studio 1A last week and you can stream his music right here on KUTX.
