Either despite or because of her lack of formal training, Austin based jazz singer Kat Edmonson never fails to amaze an audience. Since the release of her first album, Take to the Sky, in 2009, critics and fans alike have been astounded by her voice, which almost sounds like she got zapped here straight from jazz’s golden age. Her versions of jazz standards are far from standard, they twist and innovate the old tunes into something entirely new. On top of that, she sings some fantastic originals that feel right at home in a set list filled with compositions from jazz legends.
