Jazz loves novelty and that’s why jazz loves guitarist Stanley Jordan. The guitar virtuoso is know for innovation and doing the unexpected–two characteristics that make for not only a great jazz musician, but a great musician in general. In fact, one of the things Stanley is best known for, besides his prodigious knowledge of guitar (jazz, rock, and classical) is his invention of a new way to play– a style he coined the “touch technique.” We can’t wait to be wowed by the guitar legend Tuesday March 11! He’ll also play two shows Saturday March 15– one at the University Presbyterian Church to benefit the Center for Music Therapy (an organization near and dear to his heart) and another at The Elephant Room as part of the official SXSW showcase.
