February was designated as Love Austin Music Month by KUTX, the Austin Music Foundation, and the City of Austin Music and Entertainment Division as a reminder to support local musicians. The month’s nearly over, but the love and support needs to continue all year long!
Today’s Austin Music Minute selection started out as a side project by vocalist and guitarist Jack Thornton in 2007, The History Department. They’re part of an awesome line-up you can check out tonight at Cheer Up Charlie’s, 900 Red River, which includes fuzzed-up garage punk by Dregs, psych/surf/garage rockers Goldbloom, and AMM dreamboats, poppy punk/garage freaks The Naked Tungs.
This is all damn good. The music starts after 8 p.m. So recommended.
