In her dizzying new music video, Austin-based singer-songwriter Stephanie Hunt, performing under the moniker Buffalo Hunt, wades through a sticky-sweet food fight to perform her newest single, “Life Not On My Terms.” In the video, a stone-faced Hunt pulls the viewer into a lawn chair daze, all the while being pelted by candy spaghetti, clouds of sugar, and frosting.
This vibrant feast for your eyes depicts Hunt wrestling with a sense of powerlessness in puffy dresses and pink claws, all the while singing over a layer of clean harmonies, bubbling and popping percussion, and stacked synths. Following the release of earlier singles “Living In a TV”, “Apple Tree” and “Addicted to Reality,” Buffalo Hunt continues to refine her richly layered pop production into catchy but thought-provoking songs reminiscent of St. Vincent or Kate Bush. Her debut album Ambitions of Ambiguity is due out April 29, 2022 on Nine Mile Records.
