UPDATE: This year’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Community March, hosted by the Austin Area Heritage Council and the City of Austin is canceled due to cold weather expected Monday. The MLK Community Festival, which traditionally follows the March, will be rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 1 beginning at 11 a.m. at Huston-Tillotson University.

The Austin Heritage Council presents the MLK Community Celebration, Monday, January 20. The march starts at 9:30 A.M. at the Capitol and ends at Huston-Tillotson University, followed by the MLK Cultural Festival at 11 A.M. This family-friendly festival is free and features food vendors, an artisan market and live music performances from The Levites, Distinguished Soundz, Blue Vinyl Crates, and more. KUT News and KUTX 98.9 will be out at the Festival – say hello and pick up some swag.
