Scientists across the globe noted that the second full moon of the year, and accompanying lunar eclipse, is supposed to occur tonight – or very early tomorrow morning, depending upon your location on the planet. And it’s a Blue Moon. Your Austin Music Minute maven likes to think that this mighty moon is coming out just for a select badass crew of soul suckers ready to take your eardrums down with their self-described space punk from the Lone Star State.
The AMM today referenced “spaaaace (punk) maaaaadnessss.” Ren & Stimpy. Look it up. Then head out to see DRAKULAS tonight at Hotel Vegas, 1502 E. 6th St. The evening starts out with U.K. holla-billy (HOLLA!) roots hoodlum Serious Sam Barrett at 10:15 p.m., followed by San Francisco country-folksters Slow Motion Cowboys at 11 p.m., and Alabama haunted folk folklorists The Pine Hill Haints at 11:45 p.m.
