The Austin Music Minute is supported by Howler Brothers, an Austin-based designer of creative outdoor apparel since 2011, and by Planet K, Austin’s local hemp emporium since 1990.
This was basically a love letter to music. Bee Blackwell took their experience playing in bands throughout high school and college and started performing covers of their favorite emo and grunge tracks to share online. The posts turned into viral moments of badass joy. Blackwell was connecting to the emotion and passion of each track and it showed. That was the key to their original work, and still is to this day.
Blackwell’s new EP New Familiar is out now, with a release show happening tonight at Mohawk on the indoor stage. Doors at 7 p.m., with a line-up featuring ambient/pop/noise rockers Middle Mass and alt.-rock outfit Campaigner. And an extra bonus: Check out the new video for their single “Your Type” below.
