Let the festivities begin! You’ve got a busy weekend ahead of you, mate, so the Austin Music Minute humbly offers up some recommendations for your fest-hopping schedule to consider.
– As you well know (unless you’ve been living under the biggest rock on the planet), the 2014 Austin City Limits Festival is now underway. It’s the first of two ACL action-packed weekends out at Zilker Park, and the AMM has a handful of recommendations to shout about, including Robert Ellis, CHVRCHES, Ozomatli, St. Vincent and the mighty Beck.
– If that’s not the thing for you, you can totally sink your fangs into the badass 6th annual Austin Corn Lovers Fiesta, an alternative fest offering a whole bunch of awesome local and touring bands in the punk rawk vein, sure to get you pumped. The Fiesta is also a two-weekend affair (tonight and tomorrow, then next Friday and Saturday), and tonight’s show kicks off at the Hole In the Wall. The AMM recommends The Hares (from San Antonio – and an album called A Skull Full of Spurs? Hello?!), Wreckless Eric, Fiesta cofounders The Hickoids, and AMM fave The Sons of Hercules.
More about both of these fests AND Ditch the Fest Fest on tomorrow’s AMM. Stay tuned!
