If you haven’t been to any of the Free Week shows happening around town, it’s not to late. You can easily make this Saturday your night to indulge in some serious badassery. The only problem you’ll have is limiting your evening to just one show.
Yeah. Good luck with that.
Your Austin Music Minute selections for tonight:
-Yet another mammoth bill to check out at the Mohawk, 912 Red River, that includes the swirling, multi-neon psychedelic rainbow of the mind that is Calliope Musicals, along with Whiite Walls, AMM loves Darkbird and Ruby Jane & The Reckless on the outside stage; and Megafauna, A. Sinclair, Chill Russell (thanks for the shout-out), and Meanswell on the inside stage. It’s like the AMM dreamt of this show and it came to frickin’ life or something…
–Lucy the Poodle Productions knows what’s up, and they put this showcase together at Stubb’s, 801 Red River. Playing the indoor venue are your AMM boyfriends, the ever-so-dark-hearted KNIFIGHT, along with dynamic duo Light Wheel, Hours Quiet, and AMM fave Carson McHone. Mix it up.
-More beloved AMM darkness at The Belmont, 305 W. 6th St., with one-man reign of terror Lincoln Durham, the mighty folk-rock of Altamesa, and Mr. Sam Pace. Damn.
–Greenbelt Touring has a showcase tonight at Swan Dive, 615 Red River, that includes TAFT, SMiiLE, Daphne, BUHU, All Eyes, and Oh My Love. Oh my aching heart.
Do you need any more convincing? Sheesh. So recommended. Your head will explode from all the greatness. C’mon now.
