It’s a tad overwhelming when you think about it. This year’s Austin City Limits Music Festival has two weekends chock full of massive performances. And your humble Austin Music Minute maven is particularly pleased to see some local talent on some of the ACL stages.
If you’re headed out today, I have a handful of recommended sets to check out, starting with Savages at 1 p.m. on the Honda Stage; Thao & The Get Down Stay Down at 1:30 p.m. on the Bud Light Stage; and Shovels & Rope at 2:30 p.m. on the Austin Ventures Stage, plus a slew of others, if you can run round to catch one or the other, including Okkervil River, Jake Bugg, The Black Angels, Wild Belle, Arctic Monkeys, Purity Ring, Queens of the Stone Age and the major ’80s time-travel extravaganza for the evening, Depeche Mode.
