In early March, Löwin announced a new video was on the way for their latest single, “Say Say” (featured on today’s Austin Music Minute) and would only offer a very brief teaser clip of what was to come. Definitely something to leave the viewer with neck hair standing on end. Whoa.
Löwin wasn’t exaggerating when describing the video as “super freaky,” creeping along the edges with eerie black and white imagery flitting and flickering on the screen, planting visuals your mind won’t be able to shake from memory anytime soon. Filmmaker/director Kate Blaising and style designers Top Girl Productions teamed up for this sinister piece, featuring Löwin front woman Sara Houser as a most haunting figure.
Tonight, Löwin celebrates the new single and video with a show at the Mohawk, 912 Red River, on the inside stage. The bill features a set by songwriter Molly Burch, and tonight also marks The Migrant‘s last performance in Austin before moving away. This is definitely a show not to miss. Doors open at 8 p.m. Recommended.
