The last time the Austin Music Minute featured Crooked Bangs, there was admittedly quite a bit of gushing about how great they are. But I’m under the impression that a) it was a tad embarrassing for the band, and b) less is more. So today, let’s get to the bare-bone facts.
Pick up their self-titled 2012 vinyl release. Dark punk. Raw. Gritty. Jagged.
French and English. Front woman Leda does both. It rocks.
And…yeah. So, go see Crooked Bangs tonight at Hotel Vegas, 1500 E. 6th St., with Debt and Male Bondage. Worth staying up late for on a school night – whatever that means. The music kicks off at 10 p.m. Recommended.
