Margo Price

My KUTX // July 4, 2020

On her 2017 album All American Made, Margo Price cast a critical eye on women’s substandard wages and the economically burdened heartland that she hails from, sounding like a modern heir to Loretta Lynn. Price releases her follow-up, That’s How Rumors Get Started, on July 10, which she co-produced with Sturgill Simpson. On “Twinkle Twinkle,” Price details her tough upbringing, sounding a little bit bewildered that her pain has led to a bigger stage.

With the new album on the way and a performance at this year’s virtual 4th of July Picnic with Willie and friends, we’re rebroadcasting Price’s 2018 guest DJ set, featuring an hour of her influences and favorites. Hear Margo Price’s My KUTX on Saturday, July 4 at 6 p.m. or at any time in the player above.
