KUTX Artist of the Month
Every month we turn the spotlight on a new release from a Texas artist with a series of weekly features that give you a sneak peek at the new music and some insight into the artist behind it.
October brings fall, pumpkins, and perfect weather to complement Alejandro Rose-Garcia’s musical talents. As Shakey Graves, his talents will be on display October 7, with the release of And the War Came. The Austin High School graduate’s next project is promising, recorded mainly in his South Austin home. His indie folk inspired sounds and singular Southern spiced voice have attracted a number of followers, but this next album encourages collaborations. Esmé Patterson will join him this time around, adding captivating vocals to Shakey’s multi-instrumentalist appeal.
Check back here throughout the month of October for new features on Shakey Graves and his new album And the War Came.

Song of the Day
An iconic suitcase has long been a part of Shakey’s well worn one man routine. Alone with a suitcase turned drum, or with the assistance of bass and drums, Shakey has impressed audiences with a raw emotive presence. This time he travels with Esmé Patterson, whose candid vocals make this one electrifying duo. Hear Shakey’s debut track with Patterson, “House of Winston“ at KUTX’s Song of the Day.
