KUTX host/producer Art Levy brings you the best songs ever…this week.

Golden Dawn Arkestra – “Children Of The Sun”

It’s a new month, so that means KUTX has a new Artist of the Month. And for June, it’s Austin’s very own psychedelic dance party band, Golden Dawn Arkestra. This is a group that’s best experienced live with all the costumes and dancers, but their records are great too. Check out the title track to the new one: “Children of the Sun.”

Unknown Mortal Orchestra – “Hunnybee”

From the Arkestra, we turn now to the Orchestra–Unknown Mortal Orchestra brings us some more summery psychedelic music. This is a band that usually crams so many details into its music, but “Hunnybee” is a little bit sparse, sounding like a disco oasis in the triple digits.

Beach House – “Lemon Glow”

Finally, something for after dark. Beach House is back with its seventh record, fittingly called 7. The Baltimore band gets better and better with each album, and this one sounds a bit more sinister, but it’s beautiful nonetheless. Beach House is playing a sold-out show at ACL Live on July 31, part of KUTX’s 5th Birthday concert series, so let’s blow out some candles on “Lemon Glow.”
