The History Department [Alchemy] – 9:00pm @ Cheer Up Charlie’s
Created as a solo project by singer/songwriter Jack Thornton in 2008, The History Department has gone through various musical and lineup changes. Lately, the band consists of Miles Randall (bass) and Matt Leslie (drums). The three came together in early 2017. With the use of spacey jangly guitars, distorted bass and aggressive drums they have crafted a unique and tantalizing sonic force.

Sound of Ceres [The Twin] – 9:00pm @ Cheer Up Charlie’s
Karen and Ryan Hover, having completed a Perfect Triumvirate of Candy Claws albums, formed Sound of Ceres in 2014 as a duo in collaboration with members of the Apples in Stereo and the Drums. While Candy Claws explored terrestrial realms such as the ocean, the forest, and the Mesozoic, Sound of Ceres expands to contemplate all of space and time, and the human place within it.
