Join us on the beautiful rooftop pool deck of the Hotel Van Zandt on Sunday, July 31st from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. as we celebrate the release of “Mr. Linen” a new song and music video produced by Mr. Linen, featuring the voice of KUTX host John Aielli. You are invited to stay cool in your classiest white linen outfit. The party’s best dressed will be crowned “Mr. & Mrs. Linen”.
The beloved host of KUTX’s Eklektikos had no idea that his voice would be used in this quirky tribute. Music producers Dave Madden, David Messier and Andre Cantave captured the audio from a 2015 Studio 1A performance, and took great joy and care in building a song worthy of John’s charming, odd sentence: “In his linen outfit, he’s wearing linen pants, linen vest, linen scarf — he’s Mr. Linen.” John Aielli will be celebrating 50 years with KUT/X this fall.
The event is free and open to the public, but we encourage you to purchase a ticket for a $5-$10 suggested donation. All ticket sales will go to Austin’s public radio music station, KUTX.
