Texas Songwriter David Rodriguez Passes Away

Texas singer/songwriter David Rodriguez passed away on October 26th at the age of 63.

Regarded as one of Texas’ best songwriters, Rodriguez inspired countless musicians including Grammy winner Lucinda Williams. The two recorded Woody Guthrie’s “Deportees” on his 1992 album The True Cross. Throughout his musical career, Rodriguez released nine solo albums and collaborated with Paul Simon, Tish Hinojosa, Lyle Lovett, and Carlos Santana. Lovett dedicated his final song to Rodriguez during his October 27th concert at the Paramount.
