Songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, artist, and record producer: David Messier is a multitalented staple of the Austin music scene. As owner of Same Sky Productions, Inc., one of Austin’s most innovative recording studios, Messier has helped produce Jenn Zava, Dave Scher, Rattletree Marimba, Patrick Husband and many more talented artists. David served as President of the Texas Chapter of the Recording Academy from 2016-2018, and prior to that, as a Governor of the Academy, he started the Texas Chapter’s Philanthropy Committee, which raised and awarded over $30K in college scholarships.
Messier’s experience as a producer has fueled a discography of his own that showcases a vast knowledge of music. With a sound that blends Americana, Rock and Folk, Messier is a hurricane force of music that he humbly self-describes as ‘just rock n’ roll’. His depth as an artist is shown blending familiar musical elements with syncopated rhythms and changing tempos. He came into Studio 1A accompanied by Kevin Flatt on trumpet, Barbara Nesbitt with backing vocals, Matthew Reed on guitar, Pat Harris on bass, Brady Muckelroy on drums, Tony Rogers on cello, Jason Elinoff on viola, Dave Madden on keys, vocals, and Will Taylor and Leigh Wallenhaupt on violins to get ready for the release of his new album, “Time Bomb”. The album is set to release this Friday, November 2nd followed by a release show at One-2-One on Saturday.
