Dead Stars is a trio from New York that aptly describes itself as “fuzz pop.” In the grand tradition of the Ramones or the Jesus & Mary Chain, you can headbang and whistle along to Dead Stars’ songs (I’d like to see that pairing in action). After dropping Bright Colors last year, the group is back quickly with its third album, Perfect Patterns. And “Pink Clouds” is a perfect pattern of punk past and present, actively wishing for lost youth while still ripping it up with veteran power.
“Pink Clouds” appears on Perfect Patterns, out September 1.
