Tamarron: “Joan”

Austin five-piece Tamarron recorded its debut EP at the home studio of Daniel McNeil, who also doubles as the front-of-house engineer for White Denim’s tours. It makes sense they’d work with him; like White Denim, Tamarron dives headfirst into the guitar-centric ’60s/’70s psychedelia, but with a modern sheen. The EP blasts off with “Joan,” a towering inferno of psych-rock that cools off with each candy-coated verse.

“Joan” appears on Let’s Get Out EP, out now. Tamarron plays Cheer Up Charlie’s tonight.
