The Human Circuit is a seven-piece Austin band with a punchy, pop sound spiked with orchestral flourishes. Last month, the group released its third album, Electric City, and it’s celebrating with a handful of shows this month. “Greeves” is a good introduction to the band’s quirky sensibility. Building on an off-kilter beat, the song wears its classical influences on its sleeve, resulting in a hybrid that’s baroque and compact at the same time.
“Greeves” appears on Electric City, out now. The Human Circuit plays Funky Fridays at St. Elmo Brewing Co. on Friday, July 7, Spiderhouse Ballroom on Saturday, July 15 and the Barracuda on Wednesday, July 19.
