Coachella Fest and the Mobile Phone Marauders

Weekend one of Coachella fest is a wrap, and while Radiohead had their second consecutive Coachella performance marred by tech issues, for about 130 festivalgoers, technology was a hero, twice. On Friday, 36-year-old Reinaldo De Jesus Heano was found with over 100 stolen cellphones in his backpack, leading to an immediate arrest on suspicions of grand theft. On Sunday another man was caught with 30 stolen phones. But when you’ve got the wrath of 100 scorned millennials on you, stolen technology doesn’t stay that way for long. With the help of GPS and a few find-my-phone-apps, both marauders were caught within hours of their pillage. Heano was released after posting a $10,000 bail, but could still face charges for grand theft.
