Abram Shook at KUTX 1.22.14

If you don’t know Abram Shook by now, DO. Once a wanderer and now a local, Abram Shook traveled many years before gracing Austin with his presence. The California native studied jazz in Santa Cruz then spent a number of years traveling the world (South America, Indonesia) to find himself. Abram Shook is seasoned by his worldly experiences and his past involvement with bands, Shearwater, The Low Lows, and the Great Nostalgic. He worked with veterans of the biz, Danny Reisch (Midlake, White Denim) and Erik Wofford (Octopus Project, Black Angels, Bill Callahan) on the mixing of his last album, Sun Marque. Reisch and Wofford call Sun Marquee all the styles of Abram’s previous projects into a cohesive dream-state of bedroom pop, ripe for your next pool party or stroll through the park.”  The description is right on. Check out his new single, “Coastal” and live in-studio performance from January 22 below.
