KUTX’s Artist of the Month, Flora & Fawna, sat down with Jay Trachtenberg this week in studio 1a. Flora & Fawna is the combination of the musical talent from Lili Hickman and Mason Ables and was an accidental creation. After hearing Hickman’s folk-inspired songs, Ables suggested teaming up, fleshing out the songs with his beats and electronic production work. “Slow Burn” is the first result, a song that emphasizes Hickman’s voice but gives it a danceable grounding. On Thursday, September 26, Flora & Fawna releases its debut EP with a show at Cheer Up Charlie’s.
