While the band name may suggest a solo act, Frank Smith is actually an Austin-based band consisting of five members: Aaron Sinclair, Ben Lance, Benjamin Houtman, Jud Johnson, and Brendan Bond. These guys transported their Northeastern rock roots from Boston, when they moved to Texas back in 2007, and gained a bit of inspiration from the alternative country scene in Austin. Their interesting way of genre-blending on their latest album Nineties has gained them good reviews from SPIN and Paste Magazine. The band has a great synergy when they hit the stage. They share their intimacy with the audience propelling the quality of their sound and performance to even greater heights. The band will play on the orange stage at 12 PM, this Saturday at FunFunFun Fest.
