Two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and legendary singer-songwriter, Graham Nash, has the resume to back up his storied status as one of the most celebrated musicians of our time. Known for his work with Crosby, Stills, Nash (and sometimes Young) as well as The Hollies, Nash’s familiar tenor vocals and incredible work in crafting songwriting that intertwines seamlessly to create his distinct sound helped establish CSN&Y as one of the most celebrated folk-rock bands of all time. Nash’s music has a magnetic draw to it, one in which he expresses his poetic thoughts on the world; it doesn’t appear that he’s changed in his approach with his latest album, This Path Tonight, an emotional expression of days passed, a reminiscing reverberation of nostalgia, happiness and love. It’s been his calling card for his career, his music, a tell-all of his own life, whether it was his views of passing on ideals of peace and love to our kids as well as to adults in, “Teach Your Children Well,” or the lost idealism of youth and the hippie culture in, “Wasted On The Way,” Nash never shied away from wearing his heart on his sleeve. Graham Nash is currently on tour for his latest album, making his stop in Austin at the Paramount Theatre on May 5th and will also be in San Antonio on May 9th at the Majestic Theatre.
Graham Nash was able to stop by Studio 1A and played an incredible set of some of his music for us, sharing experiences of being with CSN&Y, the heartache that went into recording “Ohio“, the journey of his career as musician and a man passionately in love with his craft.
