YES. It’s time for an Austin band to surface that sports musical influences like Pavement, Modest Mouse, and Jeff Tweedy. And also live up to it, which local group, Growl does. Their sound is somewhat adolescent both instrumentally and lyrically, but in that strategically-crafted, wonderful, Pavement-esque kind of way. Growl will be a part of our Map Jam festival playing at Delta Millworks (3 p.m.). MapJam is a free music festival February 15 that happens in various spaces throughout East Austin.
