Sons of Bill isn’t just a family affair. The Charlottesville five-piece takes its name from Sam, Abe, and James Wilson’s father, although bassist Seth Green and drummer Todd Wellons complete the group of Sons. Since forming in 2006, Sons of Bill have refined their alt-country infused americana roots rock sound over the course of four albums and two EPs.
Depending on the song, Sons of Bill have been compared to early REM, Townes Van Zandt, and even a countrified Pink Floyd. The lush recordings on their most recent album Love & Logic (2014) proves that a classic roots rock sound is still compatible with the modern age. You can catch Sons of Bill on Friday, November 7th at Stubb’s BBQ or stream them right here on KUTX!
