Terri Hendrix is no stranger to risk – the Grammy award-winning songwriter has released every album since her 1996 debut on her self-started label Wilory Records using fan financing years before crowdfunding was popularized. However, she knew her Project 5 plan was a little crazy when she dreamed it up in 2016. The project included four stylistically diverse yet thematically linked albums and an autobiography: all released within one year. As the death of her sister intervened, she gave herself more time. But with the release of the second two albums, Talk to a Human and Who is Ann? along with the book, The Girl with the Exploding Brain in September 2019, Hendrix managed to release more material in three years than many other artists manage to do in a decade.
The fearless San Marcos native stopped by Studio 1A to discuss her ambitious five-part project with KUTX host John Aielli. Listen to the live performance below!
