All female alt-rock band The Mrs. stopped by Studio 1A this week to play a few songs off their newly released album Five Minutes. The Mrs. was formed after Andra Liemandt put her daughter into piano lessons and was told she should pick up an instrument and learn as well. She recruited her best friend Jenny Mason to join her and they learned bass and drums eventually writing their own music and recruiting their other core members Mandy Prater (guitar) and Larissa Ness (keys) to fill out their lineup.
Focused on writing songs that not only entertain but also empower those who listen to them, The Mrs. create harmony-filled pop songs inspired by everyone from Kelly Clarkson, to Ed Sheeran to The Go-Go’s. They play Stubb’s Indoor tonight 5/23 with Nobody’s Girl.
