Huston-Tillotson Becomes an “All-Steinway School”
Huston-Tillotson University is Austin’s only historically black college or university, and the last time their music program was graced with new pianos was the 1970s. That is, until the university kicked-off a campaign this summer in hopes to raise money for new ones, a feat Huston-Tillotson projected would take years. Delayed gratification turned out to not be in their hand for this project, as almost immediately an anonymous donor wrote a check for $800,000 to buy 15 new Steinway pianos, giving Huston-Tillotson the official distinction of being an All-Steinway School, and yes that’s a real thing. Korg Gadget, which started out on the iPad before migrating to other Apple devices, is known for being one of the best all-in-one production tools available on a tablet or phone, and now it’s making its way to the game console, and the Switch’s unique design will allow users to make music from their TV or on the go.
