Barracuda, the new music venue taking the place of Red 7, is open for business. December 14th’s grand opening party will include performances by Leo Rondeau, Sweet Spirit, and Julian Neel.
The GRAMMY nominations are out, and Austin’s Patty Griffin and Hayes Carll both made the list. Griffin’s “Servant of Love” is up for best folk album, and Hayes Carll is nominated for his song “Chances Are.” Conspirarae is also nominated for best choral performance.
The SIMS Foundation, a local organization that provides mental health services to Austin musicians, announced a big expansion this week. Starting in 2016, the nonprofit will supply coverage to all music industry professionals.
Transmission Events and C3 Presents released their lineup for Free Week, which will occur across various downtown venues January 1-10.
