Amy Sue Berlin at KUTX 4.1.14

Posted by on Mar 31, 2014

Although she was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Amy Sue Berlin was destined for the Southwest. She knew it from a young age. Early on she traveled a good amount with her mother, a musician herself, and each year they made the trek to Texas for the Kerrville Folk Festival. It was those trips that silently pulled Amy to move to Austin, TX where she eventually laid down her roots. Her involvement in the music industry is long, but a lot of that time was spent behind the scenes–selling merchandise, promoting, managing, and learning the ropes. It wasn’t until 2012 that Amy got her first taste for songwriting. Sitting in on some classes at a song writing camp in Sisters, Oregon altered Amy’s path forever. She found herself to be a natural born song writer. Lyrics just seemed to flow freely out of her, and lucky for us she hasn’t stopped writing since. On Facebook, she describes her music as “simple, honest, playful, acoustic folk.” We taped a performance with the songstress Tuesday April 1 from studio 1A. Check out the recording RIGHT HERE!¬†You can also catch Amy live at the Cactus Cafe¬† Friday April 4th celebrating her release of Fragile Bones. She’ll be joined by special guests Grace Park, Mike Meadows, B Sterling Archer, and Matthew Electrician.
