Bella Lista: “Angelica”

Macabre, baroque, drastic. So goes the debut album from Brooklyn’s Bella Lista, but it’s also been at her core since she began playing the piano at six years old, finding an affinity for minor chords and rewriting pieces from songbooks to make them reflect darker, deeper tones. Paired with a spectral-like, operatic voice and inspiration from NYC’s abrasive nature, we get her debut album Drasticism.

The haunting hues of “Angelica” finds its power in the negative space, leaving room for the darkness to seep in organically against its baroque pop backdrop.
