A surprise single from Variety? New Prehuman merch? Billy Mirror being…Billy Mirror? In a word, yes.
Today’s Austin Music Minute featured a fan favorite by Variety, “Plover,” but tonight’s show at Hotel Vegas features something special from the band. They’re performing an unreleased song originally written by Corey Anderson for Austin band Exercise, “Valentine,” taken from a demo Anderson shared some years ago. Variety’s giving it some new life tonight in what will be their last show for a few months, as they finish their forthcoming album and release a few singles leading up to it.
This evening’s line-up includes sets by Prehuman, who are also dropping some new, extra cool Maggie tee merch; and grunged-up noise-pop courtesy of the enigmatic Billy Mirror starting the show. What’s your reflection say? “…for those who dream of better things.”
