Psychedelic party-folk adventurers Calliope Musicals just unleashed more kaleidoscopic artistry into the world with the lovely, enormous melodic spree that is Time Owes You Nothing, music created by one big happy musical family that knows it’s always time to dance.
With all this being said, it’s now time to imagine what a live Calliope Musicals performance is like. As you may have heard on today’s Austin Music Minute…simply multiply this sonic elation by 10, then add an all encompassing warm embrace, plus all the colors of the universe – delivered by unicorns.
You’ll be able to experience this yourself at Calliope Musicals’ album release show tonight at Central Presbyterian Church, 200 E. 8th St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the night begins with a short acoustic set by Patch at 7:30 p.m., followed by Calliope Musicals’ performance of Time Owes You Nothing, in its entirety, at 7:50 p.m. But this is just the beginning. The band will be joined by the Yes Ma’am Brass Band for a big parade march – audience included – to Cheer Up Charlie’s on Red River for an after party celebration at 9 p.m. Special guests include Riders Against the Storm, Sphynx, Hikes, Patch, Trouble in the Streets, Zettajoule, Tinnarose, Michael Parallax, Terror Pigeon, Plasma Icicle Soul and more special surprises.
Wow. Be prepared to dance all night. That is not an exaggeration. Very recommended.
