The bureaucrat. The queen. The ghost. Even my best friend. The Infinites’ second LP explores it all.
In the midst of KUTX’s Throwback Thursday membership drive madness, as we share a ridiculous cornucopia of favorites from ’74 to ’94 like a schizophrenic jukebox, the AMM takes a brief moment to introduce new music by The Infinites, from their album Archetypes. And, as concepts go, this new collection is enthralling.
Their second LP begins where their first, Album 1 Loop Recordings, left off, introducing imaginary characters with their own unique stories. This time, the band takes on a different archetype on each track, exquisitely connected with subtle loops that give it all a distinctive motion, almost a hypnotic quality, dreamy and satisfying.
This one needs to be in your music collection. Like, now. Catch The Infinites at their album release show tomorrow night, Friday Feb. 23, at Radio East on Montopolis Dr. Doors at 7 p.m., with a line-up featuring The Stacks, Dorothy’s and Gummy Fang.
