Kill The Lights unleashes a raw catharsis…
A lot of emotional intensity packs a punch in just six tracks on Kill The Lights by San Diego’s Benches, and it’s so worth the trip. The album combines their raw sonic energy with what some would consider darker areas of mental health often unaddressed, including incapacitating overthinking, deeply-rooted fears and detachment. But through the depths emerges a sense of light that seems to eradicate the hopelessness.
Check out Benches at their show tonight at 29th Street Ballroom. Doors at 7 p.m., with the music starting at 8 p.m.
