Best of the Fests

It’s an overload of incredible music taking over the weekend with not one, not two, but three music fests to explore – and it can be a tad overwhelming. But never fear! At the very least, you can take your cue from a handful of Austin Music Minute recommendations to steer you in the right direction. Have a gander at today’s selections from the 2014 ACL Fest, the Austin Corn Lovers Fiesta, and Raw Paw‘s Ditch the Fest Fest.

ACL Fest: If you’re headed to Zilker Park today, the AMM suggests checking out local bands like Spanish Gold and Mike & The Moonpies, and touring acts like Interpol (featured on today’s AMM), Lucius and Broken Bells; tomorrow’s bill includes Fitz & The Tantrums, Jenny Lewis, Spoon and The Replacements.

Corn Lovers Fiesta: It’s the real dirty deal, punk in both sound and attitude. The Fiesta resumes today at The Lost Well, 2421 Webberville Rd., with performances by Black Salve, Screech of Death, DiNola and more.

Ditch the Fest Fest: Raw Paw’s superb cream-of-the-indie crop extravaganza starts out today at Empire Control Room, 606 E. 7th St., with sets by Tele Novella, Chipper Jones, BLXPLTN, Young Tongue, Feral Future and many more local artists.

There’s a little something for everyone. The triple fest coverage continues next weekend. Stay tuned.
