AMM Feb 14 2026

The AMM’s Valentine’s show picks.

Perhaps the saccharine-sweet, pink-and-red shaded mush day that is the 14th of February may not be your cup of bourbon. (Unless your talking Raul Julia’s Gomez and Anjelica Huston’s Morticia…it’s a big no thank you for your AMM host.) But why not make it all about your love of music? This is your AMM’s humble guide to some stellar shows happening tonight:

  • It’s the romance of the century. Being Dead shows off their seductive groove moves at Meanwhile Brewing, with sweethearts Big Bill and Gummy Fang. Doors at 7:15 p.m. Take a moment to see the mad crush reel featuring all three bands on Instagram. So. Good. Nothing like Big Bill guitarist Alex Riegelman swooning with fluttering eyelashes.
  • Another reel that had your AMM host laughing out loud came from the Congolese leopard himself, David Shabani, announcing his show at Revelry. It’s a late set at 9:30 p.m., so Shabani advises you go get your Valentine’s dinner and all that other bullsh** out of the way, then get to the Revelry patio for a night with the Nu Leopards and the best alt.-Texas hip-soul.
  • Get hip already to the wondrous LP Havin’ A Talk, featuring Melissa Carper and Theo Lawrence‘s classic twang ‘n’ drawl duets of love, which the Austin Chronicle‘s Doug Freeman brilliantly describes as “A remarkable wine and moonshine concoction.” By the way, it’ll do your heart good to see Carper tonight at Sagebrush, joined by Hannah Juanita and Mose Wilson on the bill. The music starts at 8 p.m.
  • On crushes of the candy variety – get swept away by synth rockers Candy Riot at Chess Club. Kenneth Frost‘s disco-pulsed Blush Fantasy and electro-dreamy outfit Minivan Dad round out this love night bill. Doors at 9 p.m.
  • Swinging it back to darker romance, sweet fiends. Elysium hosts the Gothic Hearts Ball, with DJs Neph and SpiderGoddess spinning gothic, darkwave and beyond for your anti-slow dance vibes, and industrial/goth rock duo Past Model premieres a new video for their single “Memory”. Doors at 9 p.m.
