Adam Torres‘ voice alone gives one pause. It carries with it a quiet power; gentle, but connected to an emotional intensity that drives the search for meaning. The title track to I Came to Sing the Song, Torres’ phenomenal follow-up EP to his critically-acclaimed second album Pearls to Swine, explores the purpose of the songwriter, an artist conveying meaning through extraordinary means. Very like the bluebird flitting into range, his song reflects the world around him.
Torres’ EP release show tonight at the Cactus Cafe is one not to miss. Doors open at 8 p.m., and special guest Monk Parker starts out the evening at 8:30 p.m. Seating is limited, so plan to arrive early.
A lovely evening of exquisite sounds. This one comes highly recommended.
