What is growing up about, anyway? Lullabies for Dogs dives into its conflicted, confusing journey.
Growing up is not only overrated, it’s devastating on several levels. Shedding light so beautifully on this very notion is Long Beach “quarter-life crisis” folk-pop trio Chase Petra on their second LP, Lullabies for Dogs via Wax Bodega, lyrically twisting and turning through the messiness, awkwardness, and ridiculousness that is adulthood.
Chase Petra plays tonight at Empire Control Room on E. 7th. Joining them on the bill are Bay Area indie rock quartet Small Crush, and New York queer punk trio Sorry Mom. Doors at 7:30 p.m.
