The stars are aligning. The Chief is stoked to make an ACL Fest debut this year.
For Jalesa Jessie of Chief Cleopatra, it was great news when she got it, but it’s hitting even more now. In her own words on a recent Instagram post, “It’s becoming more and more real each day.” Chief Cleopatra is over the moon about making a debut at ACL Fest on Oct. 6. It’s a first for the Austin-based artist, who continues to explore and solidify a badass funk/soul/R&B style rooted in rock, from the ethereal shimmers on the Walker Lukens-produced EP Luna to the Chief’s bumpin’ dance floor banger “Cold Dancer.”
More announcements and a few surprises are on the way next month and October. Until then, catch Chief Cleopatra tomorrow night, Thursday Aug. 8, at Meanwhile Brewing Company, as part of their Dog Days of Summer music series. The Chief takes the stage at 8:30 p.m.
