Jim James is no stranger to Austin City Limits. He’s appeared on the show with his band My Morning Jacket, and with indie super group Monsters of Folk, alongside Conor Oberst, M. Ward, Will Johnson and Mike Mogis.
Last night, James returned to the ACL stage (for the sixth time) as a solo artist and wowed fans not only with tracks from Regions of Light and Sound of God, but also an acoustic version of My Morning Jacket’s “Wonderful (The Way I Feel)” and Monsters of Folk’s “His Master’s Voice.”
If you weren’t able to attend the taping, don’t despair – you can see Jim James tonight at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater, 801 Red River. Songwriter Al Spx‘s band Cold Specks will start the evening. Doors open at 7 p.m. Check it out.
